I'm grew up in Carrboro, North Carolina. I have one dog and one cat who I share with my husband. I love to read and to knit. I also love to get outside and enjoy all the beautiful places that North Carolina has to offer! I originally went to Appalachian State University to get my undergraduate degree in Ecology. I was (and still am!) fascinated by all the different plants and animals that live together and interact with each other! A year after I graduated I decided I wanted a career change and went to NC State University to get my Masters in Teaching. Millbrook combines my love of nature and the environment and my passion for education!

Why do you choose to teach at an Environmental Connections school?

I always loved learning about the different kinds of plants and animals that live around us. Our magnet theme is a wonderful way to combine that love of mine with teaching kids all about how they can help protect it.
