Hi! My name is Olivia Nery. I graduated from St. Joseph's University New York in 2019 and started teaching Pre-K. After receiving my Master of Education, I transitioned to teaching Special Education. I'm originally from Long Island, New York and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina this summer with my husband and our golden retriever, Apollo. I am so excited to be part of the MECME family!

Throughout my teaching experiences, I have gained the resources and tools needed to teach the diverse learning styles present in today's classrooms. I take pride in fostering a learning environment that is safe, nurturing, inclusive, student-centered, and fosters the development of life-long learners.

When I am not in the classroom, my husband and I enjoy trying new restaurants and cuisines. We are also BIG basketball fans and love watching and going to games together. So far, our favorite activity to do here is finding the best dog friendly parks and lakes to explore as a family.

Why I teach...

Being able to be part of a child's learning journey is so special. I love being a cheerleader for my students and watching them achieve their goals.
