Mrs. Chapin was born and raised in Reidsville, NC. She attended Appalachian State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Elementary Education in 1995. She then taught in Rockingham County(where she's from) and moved to Raleigh in 1997. She started her employment with Wake County Schools at that point here at Millbroook Elementary and has been here ever since! Yes, 21 years at the same school!! During this time she also received a Master's degree in Special Education at North Carolina State University.

In Mrs. Chapin’s free time she enjoys playing with her 2 sons and chocolate lab, Bisk. She and her husband both LOVE watching football...Michigan State Spartans on Saturdays and Washington Redskins on Sundays! As a mom of 2 elementary school age boys, Mrs. Chapin is very busy after school taking them to karate and soccer, but loves every minute of it! If she does have any down time, Mrs. Chapin loves to sit outside and read or watch Law & Order.

I teach because I LOVE to help students learn! Watching a child learn to read is my favorite thing EVER!!!

Millbrook has always felt like home to me! The staff is a family not just coworkers!
