I am so excited to have joined the MECME team! My name is Gina Williams. I am from California where I received my degree in Child Development from CSU Chico. St. Mary's College was where I earned my teaching credential and my Masters in Education. I started teaching first and second grade in a multi-age setting in California. Since moving to North Carolina, I have been a stay-at home mom to my four children, and then restarted my teaching career in Special Education. I have been teaching for 22 years total and have loved every minute of it!

I am a busy mom with four girls ages 25, 22, 21 and 16. My husband and I love to travel and see new places. My hobbies include running and spending as much time with my family as I can. I am so happy to be at a new school doing what I love!

Why do you teach?

I teach because it is my calling. I have known since I was 10 years old that I wanted to be a teacher. I also was called later in life to be a Special Education teacher. I am passionate about making sure that SPED students get the education that they deserve.
