Hey Eagle Families!

I am excited to have the opportunity to join the Vandora Springs Elementary family. I believe that everyone has a talent to share with others and am passionate about helping students S.O.A.R. while making learning fun. 

I was raised in New Bern, closer to the coast, and grew up fishing or splashing in the ocean during summer days. I graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 2007 and immediately started teaching in my hometown. It felt good to give back to the community that poured so much into my life when I was younger. In 2014, I married my wonderful husband and we started building a life together in Raleigh. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade, and Kindergarten holds a special place in my heart. I enjoy helping children grow while celebrating all the memorable “firsts” that this age brings!  

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family! We have 2 kids (a boy & a girl) and a dog that keeps us busy throughout the week. You can find us being active outside tending to our garden, playing baseball, or watching movies and playing board games on rainy days.
