Hi! My name is Brittany Kerns. I started teaching second grade in 2012. When I joined the Vandora Springs family in 2013, I taught kindergarten for five years before moving back to second grade in 2018! I have always loved school and wanted to be a teacher (since second grade 😉). It is my hope to share my passion for teaching and love of learning with my students!

I was born in Georgia and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to become a teacher. I went to college at the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Most of my family still lives in Georgia and I love to visit them every chance I get! I have siblings ranging in age from six to thirty-two years old. When I am not traveling to visit them, I enjoy spending time on the beach, at the lake, or in the mountains with my husband and our chocolate lab, Riley! I believe in building relationships, creating a community of kind, compassionate learners, and working hard every day. I believe all students are capable of growth and look forward to working together and getting to know you and your students this year!
