Hello Eagle Families,

My name is Mindy Tatum, and I am your neighbor! (I live around the corner from Vandora Springs Elementary School.) 😊

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, I grew up in Clarksville, Indiana. In 1993, I graduated from Concord College in Athens, West Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. When I was teaching 5th grade in North Carolina, I went to church one Sunday, and that is where I met my husband! 😊

My husband and I have lived in Garner since 2004.  We have one daughter and one son, of whom we are very proud! When our children were born, I was able to stay at home with them for seven years. It was a privilege for me to be able to do that. It was also the hardest job I have ever had, along with the most rewarding thing I have ever done.

Since 2012, I have been teaching at a local preschool with 2 and 3 year olds, and I have enjoyed every minute! I have always loved children! My father and grandfather were also teachers, so I guess it’s in my genes.

During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and our two dogs. Traveling, watching movies, flower gardening, drinking lots of coffee and reading a good book are other activities I like.
