Hello! My name is Ashley Massey and I’m THRILLED to be teaching 3rd grade this year at Vandora Springs!! Some of you may already know me too! I’ve been both a parent and an active member of the PTA here at VSE. But what you may not know, is prior to becoming a stay-at-home parent I taught elementary school right here in Wake County for 11 years. And let me tell you, IT’S GOOD TO BE BACK!

I knew at a young age that the classroom was where I belonged. I went on to receive my teaching degree at Fairmont State University in Fairmont, WV in 2004. I moved to NC in 2005 to begin my teaching career and I’ve never looked back! Teaching to me goes beyond the content that is taught. It’s the relationships that are built and the impact one has on their students’ lives.

My husband, Oliver, and I have been married for 10 years and are the parents to two daughters, Eden and Sadie. In my free time you’ll find me listening to a podcast, reading a book, or maybe just taking a nap! I’m REALLY looking forward to a terrific school year!
