My name is Sarah Newton, but most of the time, my students call me Musiclady. I’m so excited to be the music teacher at Vandora Springs! I have been teaching music for over 20 years and I LOVE teaching children the language of music! It is the BEST job in the world! I also lead the music for Camp Good Hope’s, All About the Arts Camp week in the summer. It’s a blast! 

 

I love to spend time in nature when I'm not teaching music, no surprise since I’m a farm girl at heart. I enjoy watching the animals relaxing on my back porch with my doggie Rusty, gardening, and especially enjoying nature at the beach. I graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, so you might find me hanging out under the trees on the island when I get a chance. I earned my Master of Education degree in teacher leadership from Walden University and enjoy teaching teachers young and old alike.

 

I’ve taught children and adults of all ages in North Carolina and Pennsylvania in rural and urban environments. ALL students will learn to read, write, play, sing, and create music at Vandora Springs. When you are having fun, you can learn anything!
