I am delighted to be the ESL teacher at Vandora Springs Elementary School! I have taught ESL for 10 years and I value the diversity that international people bring to our communities. I lived in Senegal, West Africa while serving in the U.S. Peace Corps, so I understand the challenges of learning a new language and navigating a new culture. I think it’s an incredible gift when children have the opportunity to grow up bilingual, and this will be an asset to them as they become adults and enter the workforce. I enjoy supporting my students as they work to achieve this goal. Learning a language should be fun and we will laugh a lot!

I’m from Cleveland, Ohio and moved to this area with my family in 2008. My husband is from Belarus and we have twin boys and two cats. We have many traditions, but family game night is a favorite! I adore traveling and have visited many countries. I’ve found something to love about every place I’ve visited, and there is no place that I don’t want to go. I enjoy gardening herbs and vegetables, and planting many flowers for the bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. I also love to bake – especially chocolate cake, apple pie and sourdough bread – yum!
