My name is Ashley Ruggiero and I am so excited to join the Vandora Springs family! I just finished my first year of teaching 2nd grade in Harrisonburg, VA and am thrilled to be making the move to North Carolina this summer! I graduated from James Madison University (go dukes) in 2021 with my Bachelors of Science and in 2022 with my Masters of Arts. My first year as a 2nd grade teacher reminded me of all the reasons why I love what I do, and has made me even more excited to continue teaching a group of 2nd grade littles in this upcoming school year. 

 

It is my hope and my goal for your students to come to school everyday knowing that they are loved, seen, and valued. I want my students to be excited about coming to school, knowing that together we are creating a place where everyone's voice is heard and everyone belongs. I strive to know both my students and their families inside and outside of the classroom- it is just as much your classroom as it is theirs! Please let me know if there is anything more I can do to best support you and your student this year!

1. I grew up in Charlotte, NC 

2. I love all things peanut butter and chocolate

3. I love to do anything outside (walking, running, hiking, etc.)

4. I'm gluten free (sad I know)

5. My favorite colors are purple and yellow

6. My happy place is at the lake :)
