Hello, Ram families!  This is Mrs. Lassiter calling with the weekly announcements from Rolesville High School.

I need to be sure that students understand that the AP drop deadline was the end of June.  You still have time to do the AP work.  It is due Sept. 2nd.

This Friday night is our 1st home football game of the season against Terry Sanford. This is a BLACK-OUT Night for RHS Fans.  We will be selling the All Game Pass & a 10 Game Pass for regular season games. This is a savings, so check it out!  Please note this week’s game is an endowment game not a regular season game, so passes are not accepted. Booster memberships, game passes and RHS apparel will be available Friday night and at Meet the Teacher on 8/26.   Proceeds from all sales fund RHS athletics and support “Ram Strong!”

On Monday, August 22nd at 5:30 pm, there will be a meeting in the cafeteria to plan the senior breakfast.  Parents of any grade are welcome to attend.

I want to be sure that you are aware of the Meet the Teacher open house on Friday, August 26th from 1-3.  This gives the students, and parents, a chance to find rooms and meet the teachers before the first day.  We will have computers available for volunteer registration.  Please make sure you take time to get that out of the way while you are here.  We will have a table available to register for a Parent Portal account if you do not have one.  You will need to bring your NC Driver’s License in to do both of these registrations.  Boosters will have spirit wear available and PTSA will be available for membership and other information.

I want to thank all of you who have called or emailed to share information that will help us fine-tune communication and functions in the school.

I understand that I need to make it clear which entrance if for carpool.  Those who are bringing your child through carpool need to use the entrance by the football field.  Student drivers and buses enter from the Quarry Road side.  Please make sure you review the expectations for carpool on the website. Everyone’s safety is paramount to me, so I have shared what we need to do to assure safety in carpool.

This also reminds me about something for students who are not driving. As you are planning for the first day, make sure your student knows whether to ride the bus home in the afternoon or to ride carpool.  Additionally, bus routes will be posted by WCPSS.

Students who buy parking passes are removed from the bus routes.  I want you make sure you are aware of that.  As in the past, students who do not ride for 10 consecutive days will also be removed from the assigned route.

We are also working on specifications for afterschool activity bus routes.  We will post this information online.  Please understand that these routes deliver to community stops, not to stops near a student’s home.  We will be working on a system to permit only students who have stayed after school for sports or tutoring to use these buses to return home.  Passes to ride those routes will be required.  All students who do not have an appointment or practice afterschool should ride their normal route or carpool home.

Thanks to the students and parents who took care of lunch and parking passes.  I know it was a new way of doing business.  It was all intended to make the first days of school less hectic.  We do need to add stickers to the back of lunch passes for those who purchased early.  We will do this as students leave the first week of school.

I need to make sure Senior parents know about Senior night on Sept. 20th.  This date is different from the first date planned, so make sure your calendar is correct.  It will be from 6-7:30 pm.

Given the very long voice mail this week, I ask you to check the school website for home sports information for next week.

    Have a great weekend!
