Hello, Ram families!  This is Mrs. Lassiter calling with the weekly announcements from Rolesville High School.

Many of you have connections with Mr. Booth through athletics.  Join me by congratulating him.  He has been chosen TA of the Year for RHS for 2016-17.

We will continue with exams on Monday and Tuesday of next week.  Tuesday is set as a makeup day.

Wednesday, we will begin second semester classes.  We will go first to advisory on Wednesday to make sure students have the correct schedule to start the new semester.

Remember that Friday, January 27th is now a school day and is a makeup day for the first snow day.

Mid-year graduates will rehearse at 8 am on Wednesday and graduation will be at 6:30 on Thursday.  Students will be given tickets on Wednesday.  Doors will open for those with tickets at 6 pm on Thursday.

We also have rising ninth grade curriculum and AP information night set for February 2nd from 6-8 PM.  During this event, students will learn about courses and selection for ninth grade in the gym.  We will have a separate section for AP course information in the band room.  We look forward to sharing the evening with students and parents who want to learn more.

Students have been notified that the Valentine’s dance is set for Feb. 4th from 7-10 PM.  Requirements and the outside student permission form are found on the school website.  Additionally, tickets must be purchased online using online school payments.  I want to make sure all are aware, since the exam schedule has limited our daily outreach and reminders to students.

Senior parents, we are planning to take cap and gown pictures on Feb. 15th.  There will be more information to come.  I just wanted to notify you.  This picture will have a sitting fee as I understand it.  We will share more information as soon as we get it from Lifetouch.

So here is an odd request.  Every once in a while, I will toss something out there to see what I might get back.  We have art honor society students who would like to paint a mural using lots of different colors.  I was thinking the other day that I suspect parents would have partially used cans of colored paint that they are not likely to use any more. That paint might serve the students who want to paint the mural really well.  If you have partially used cans of paint, we can put them to use for projects like the mural, so send them in if you would like.

That will do it for this week.  Make it a great weekend!
