    New

Well...It has been an interesting week so far.  Read carefully as there are updates ahead.

Monday night:  With the way things have unfolded this week and the uncertainty ahead, we have cancelled Meet the Teacher and Senior Parent Night.  We are working to try to reschedule the Senior Parent Night. We will see what we can do about Meet the Teacher, but it’s pretty difficult to try to reschedule things of this scale.

Rolesville BBQ and Bands:  I shared with the students on W that it has been cancelled.  Quite a few had already signed up to volunteer.

Club meetings:  There were TONS of meetings scheduled for Thursday of this week. Students need to listen carefully to announcements to hear times for rescheduled meetings.

Homecoming Court Nomination Packets:  They are available on the school website.

Homecoming Dance Tickets:  They are available for purchase online and the guest form is also available.

Makeup Days:  The WCPSS site has full days set for makeup on Oct. 13 (Saturday) and Oct. 31 (Friday).  I assume these will hold, but if there are changes I will let you know. For now, put them in the calendar as regular school days.

    Upcoming events:

Senior Conferences:  Will continue when we return to school

Class Ring Orders:  Sept. 17 during lunch and from 5-7 PM ($75 deposit)

Senior Product Orders:  Sept. 18 during lunch ($60 deposit)

SAT at Rolesville HS:  The next administration will be October 6th.  The regular registration deadline has come and gone, but the late registration deadline is Sept. 26th.  If you need to register, get on it. We were totally full the last administration. Got to www.collegeboard,org to register.

Senior Dates:  They are listed on the RHS website under Student Services.  The list is pretty comprehensive, but additional dates could be placed on the list as we know more.  Regardless, this should help you plan accordingly for this point of the year.

Juniors and Seniors Leaving for Lunch:  They must have a lunch pass.  We have been announcing and reinforcing.  We care about our kids being safe and sound.  Please make sure they purchase a pass if they want to go off site.

Parking Permits:  Students must have a parking pass to park on campus, too.  Forms to apply are on the school website.

Class Tees and Homecoming Tees:  I am not sure if we will extend the time to order, so I want to make sure you all are aware that these are available for sale online on the school website through Friday, Sept. 14th.  They will be delivered homecoming week. Heads up if you want to get that order before Friday!

Winston-Salem State Alumni Association (Wake chapter) is sponsoring a visitation day on Sept. 22.  It is open for sophomores through seniors who have a 2.0 or higher GPA.  The cost is $20 and applications are available in Student Services.

ASVAB- REVISED:  The ASVAB will be administered on Thursday, Sept. 20th, at 7:30 in the media center.  This 3-hour career aptitude test is beneficial for all students, as well as those who plan to join the military.  THE DEADLINE TO SIGN UP is Monday (Sept. 17) at noon.   Juniors or seniors may sign up in Student Services or in 3508.

ACE MENTOR PROGRAM:  For students interested in architecture, engineering, or construction, there is a year-long, 15-session opportunity beginning now through March for students to mentor with industry professionals.  Check it out at https://vimeo.com/272244502.  See Mrs. McPherson in 3508 if interested.

From PTSA - Meeting on 9-10-18

    • Publix has changed their way to link for the school.  Instead of the cards, you now need to go online at www.Publix.com and create an account.  You will get a link where you will confirm your email.  You will then return to the Publix site, go to your account and scroll to the bottom of the page.  Look for “My Publix Partner” and select Rolesville High School PTSA. Also, be certain to select your local Publix.
    • Please remember to join.  The easiest method is through the MemberHub.   https://rolesvillehsptsa.memberhub.store.
    • Please, please remember to register to be a volunteer.  You must do this at a WCPSS school or office building.

From Child Nutrition Services:  “WCPSS Child Nutrition Services wants you to know that you can now apply online to qualify for free and reduced price school meals.  Go online to https://www.wcpss.net/meals to determine if you qualify and complete the online application. To help you, we've shared application information, frequently asked questions and the online application. Families may also visit their school where paper applications will be available.”
