Exam Schedule: It has been posted on the school homepage in the scrolling banner.
Senior Awards: Families, remember that we are starting at 8:00 AM. This means that it will be impossible for you to enter at the same time the students are marching in. Please make sure you arrive and are seated before we begin. We look forward to seeing you at this special event. Also, students are expected to wear their caps and gowns along with the required attire that they should wear under their caps and gowns exactly as it will be for graduation. Please make sure the gowns have been steamed or lightly ironed (NO HOT IRONS or you will have a melted gown). Also, make sure your Ram has tried his or her cap on and figured out how to pin it or secure it. We have found that a hair band taped into the cap is a wonderful way to keep the cap from falling off.
Prep for Senior Picnic: We still need assistance in several ways. We need help with set-up while the awards ceremony is underway and help cooking, as well. We also need more donations. Please use the following link. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b44a5ae2fa3fc1-senior8.
Senior Baccalaureate: The program is set for 10 AM on June 1st for Lifepointe Church on Durant Road. Seniors and their families are invited. Seniors must arrive with cap and gown by 9:30 AM. Light refreshments will follow. We will need volunteers to help set up and clean up. We will send a Sign-Up Genius soon.
PTSA for Next Year: The board is looking for a secretary and a treasurer for next year. Please let me know if you are interested and I will connect you with the right folks.
Advanced Placement Meeting to prepare for 2019-20: There is a meeting on May 21st at 1 PM for students who have signed up for AP classes AND returned their AP agreements before the meeting. Students who do not return AP agreements will be dropped from AP to honors sections of courses for next year. This meeting will introduce students to the staff, the requirements and the expectations for these courses.
Athletic Middle School Night: It is set for Monday, May 20th, from 6:00-7:00 pm for all rising ninth graders who are interested in trying out for athletic teams.
Senior Spirit Week is Coming:

others where you are headed in your career and training.
May 29 - Tacky Tourist Day (Hawaiin shirts work just fine…)
May 30 - Trend Day...Bring back the outdated trends.

Sign-Up to Help with Senior Picnic: We need help from freshman, sophomore and junior parents with the senior picnic. The set-up needs to occur while the senior parents are in the awards ceremony on the 23rd. The Sign-Up Genius is at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b44a5ae2fa3fc1-senior8. Please plan to help make this a memorable event for our seniors!!!!
Graduation Translation Services: Families who need translation services, sign language services, handicap seating, or hardship assistance with Graduation regalia or dress code items should contact Ms. Nilles at knilles@wcpss.net or by calling the school.
Parents of Seniors and Seniors: We regularly remind seniors to check our Student Services website for information regarding scholarships. I occurred to me this week that parents need to be aware that this site is updated pretty frequently and you, too, might want to take a gander to see if there is a good fit. As I said, we announce the ones that groups ask us to announce, but there are more than we have time to announce.
Got aluminum can tabs? RHS student, Sterling Elliott, will be participating in the 2019 NC Youth Legislative Assembly. YLA participates in a community service project: PICK UP the TAB! This is a fundraiser that collects thousands of dollars for the Ronald McDonald House programs simply by collecting tabs from aluminum beverage or food cans in any containers (ex. Spaghetti-O’s). Sterling plans to set up a collection station in the cafeteria April 1-12 and April 22-June.1. Please consider donating your tabs.
Cords for Senior Activities: The list has been posted on the website. https://www.wcpss.net/cms/lib/NC01911451/Centricity/Domain/10633/Grad%202019%20cords.pdf
