Report Cards for First Quarter:  These were sent home today.

School will be closed Monday, Nov. 12, in observance of Veterans Day.

Reindeer Day Thanks:  Thanks to all who helped to make the event a success!

Congratulations, Nhyla Bryant!  Our very own Nhyla is Conference Champion and NC State Champion Gymnast again.  Hooray! In conference competition, she scored a perfect 10 on the bars! At states, she was vault, bars, beam, floor and all-around state champion with an all-around score of 39.55 out of 40!  FANTASTIC!

National Achievers Society Inductions:  Set for Tuesday, Nov. 13th.  Check notifications sent to families for details.  Ms. Key said to remind parents that attire is white top, black bottom and black shoes.  We will have a closed rehearsal at 5 PM for students. Parents will be allowed to enter around 6 PM.

PTSA Board Meeting:  Tuesday, Nov. 13th at 6 PM.  Note that this will occur at the same time the NAS inductions will occur.

Fall Play (continued):  The Crucible is being presented Nov. 8-10.  It starts each night at 7 PM. Advance ticket sales are available at rolesvilletheater.weebly.com at a price of $8 for students and $10 for adults.  At the door, student tickets will be $10 and adults $12.

Junior Conferences with Counselors:  These will be conducted Wed-Fri of next week during 1st, 2nd and 4th periods.

Practice ACT:  This is important to Juniors, because all Juniors will take the ACT this year.  It is a chance to test and get feedback before they take the legitimate ACT here in the winter.  The practice test is Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 at 8 AM. Students need to register at https://goo.gl/forms/IRJRf2uPGPh0AP3V2 .  Students will be required to bring their own pencils and calculators.  We will have a parent/student information night to share individual reports and have a representative from CollegeWise give best information to help with taking the test.  We did this last year and it was very beneficial to a large number of our students. Keep in mind that there are free online resources to help students prepare for ACT and SAT, also.  The feedback through our school practice experience will be more beneficial, but any review of strategy and practice materials can help.

National Achievers Society Induction:  Ms. Key will meet with inductees at 5 PM (on Nov. 13th) to walk through seating and the program.  We will respectfully request that our practice be closed to everyone except staff and students. As soon as we are done with presenting the information, we will allow families to enter and be seated. We expect to open for seating around 6-6:15 PM.

    Review

Reconfiguration of Junior/Sophomore/Freshman Night - December 11th:  In the past, we have had three separate nights.  We are pitching a change-up. All three grade levels will be in one evening and it will run something like going to a conference with concurrent sessions.  There will be 30-minute sessions that you choose from and the sessions will be offered multiple times. In addition to grade-level specific sessions, we will have sessions on WTCC College and Career Prep. financial aid, college planning, military options and college representatives to answer questions.

Math 1 and Math 3 Score Delay:  The EOC scores for Math 1 and Math 3 will be delayed until the summer.  Tests are being revised and normed this year. Students in these classes will get a letter in the near future to bring to parents with additional information.
