Those who attend the seminar can participate in a job fair with local businesses looking to hire for the Christmas/winter months. Students at least 16 years old who are interested in attending should sign up at https://tinyurl.com/y7k7p8by.
Reindeer Day - November 4th, 9am -4pm: Lots of help is needed to make this a very successful event. We are beyond excited to have approx 160 vendors this year and want everyone to have a smooth transition before, during and after the event. That's where we need your help! Tables will need to be distributed to certain booth spaces on Friday night. Also, vendors will need assistance unloading their products and brought to their assigned booths. This will take place on Friday night and Saturday morning. On Saturday, coverage will be needed for our vendors to offer short restroom/snack breaks. Finally, the breakdown of booths, assistance to vendors with the loading of their products and cleanup. In order to receive a volunteer shirt, folks must sign up to volunteer by Oct. 17th.
From the soccer team: The Rolesville Soccer Program would like to invite everyone to come out and support your RAMS as they take on Wake Forest next Wednesday (10/11). We will be hosting the Cougars at 4:30/6:00 for both Junior Varsity and Varsity respectively. It will also be a night where we will be honoring quite a few of our senior players and I know they would love to see lots of support. This game will be their red-letter game, on where they encourage others to come out in large numbers to support them.
Rams Scare Run: RHS Athletics will host our 2nd annual "Rams Scare Run" on Saturday October 21st. We will have a 1 mile "Costume Run" at 4:30pm. This run is only $10 per family. The 5K will be at 5:00pm. In addition to the race, we will have fun activities for the entire family. This is an excellent opportunity to support the Rolesville Athletic Club (Booster Club) as well as our student-athletes. Please spread the word to your family and friends.
Opportunity through Wake Electric: I got an email this week to share an opportunity that current juniors may apply for. They are looking for applicants for the 2017 Electric Youth Tour. If selected, students will go on a tour of Washington, D.C. from June 9-15 to learn not only about electric cooperatives but also our government and history. For those who attend, there will be a $1000 scholarship to be paid to the college or university when the student is enrolled the following year. The deadline is Dec. 13 at 5 PM. Applications can be found at www.wemc.com/youth-tours/. Winners are also eligible to apply for three additional scholarships.
