Rolesville High School Weekly Updates | September 23, 2017
We are so full of news this week that I need to send another notice! I hope you all have a great weekend! ~ Mrs. Lassiter
Administrative Responsibilities: Lately, it has occurred to me that our families might not know precisely who is responsible for aspects of school management. I have noticed that emails and calls are coming to me when they should have been directed to a different administrator. I can assure that you will get a quicker response if you contact the proper administrator directly.

PSAT/PreACT: The Registration for the PSAT has closed. Those who have registered can go to student services to pick up a Study Guide Booklet. The test will be on Oct. 11th in the Media Center at 7:30am. There will not be a make up day for those who miss the test on the 11th. Looking ahead, the PreACT will be administered to all 10th graders on November 14th and 15th. The students will be split into two groups based on their last name. Parents and students can voluntarily access and complete the pretest portion and create an ACT profile at the following website: http://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/act-profile.html .
Youth Leadership Rolesville - for students who live in 27571: Please reference prior postings to the web. The deadline is this coming Thursday, Sept. 28th. This opportunity is a wonderful way to show leadership development. This year, it is for sophomores through seniors. In the future, it will likely be limited to sophomores and juniors. The program will be similar to the one that is run in Wake Forest and has met with great success. Students who have participated in that program have indicated that the experience has been outstanding for personal growth. It will look awesome on applications, too!
CCP: Information sessions for Wake Tech's CCP program have been posted. Career & College Promise offers high school students an opportunity to get a head start on college – for free! Students may take college courses and earn college credits while still in high school! Students who are interested in CCP should visit https://www.waketech.edu/admissions-aid/career-and-college-promise to register to attend an information session.
Outstanding School-to-Career Volunteer: Congratulations to Michelle Lair, Director of Admissions Services at Wake Tech and a founding member of our Rolesville Business Alliance! Mrs. Lair was recognized as a Wake County Public School System OUTSTANDING SCHOOL-TO-CAREER VOLUNTEER this past week at the Superintendent's Breakfast at PNC! Mrs. Lair has worked with students, staff, and the community since RHS opened to share the many opportunities offered at Wake Technical Community College. She has served at RHS as a classroom speaker, mock interviewer, financial literacy and college planning coach. She has also presented at parent nights and college and career fairs. Our number of students enrolled in the Career & College Promise Program has increased with Mrs. Lair's knowledge and sharing of the CCP program. We are excited to celebrate Mrs. Lair as one of WCPSS's Outstanding School-to-Career Volunteers!
North Wake College & Career Academy: Students who are interested in attending North Wake College & Career Academy are invited to Student Services on Friday, September 29, between 9 - 11, to talk with a representative from NWCCA. For more information about the CTE high school in Wake Forest, please visit https://www.waketech.edu/about-wake-tech/locations/north-wake-cca. Please sign up in Student Services to attend the session on Friday.
Invitation from RHS Volleyball and Coach Harris: We have two BIG rival home games: Tuesday against WF (open house) and Thursday against Heritage. All fall coaches are encouraging their athletes to attend on Tuesday. Thursday is our "teacher appreciation night" and would love the additional support. Both nights, they would love to have Rams family support.
