Hello, Ram families!  This is Mrs. Lassiter calling with the weekly announcements from Rolesville High School.

Tomorrow, Friday, is an early release day for year-round schools.  This will impact our dismissal, so I am calling tonight to let you know that we anticipate having about half of our buses run 30 to 45 minutes late.  If your bus rider is not home on time, it is very likely that he or she had to wait for a late arrival bus.

On to other news…caps and gowns were delivered on Monday.  There will be another opportunity for cap and gown delivery.  They still need to be ordered at Jostens.com.  We are working on an April delivery date at this time.

Seniors also need to pay the $40 graduation fee as well as any fines as soon as possible.

National Honor Society students are offering peer tutoring during all lunches in room 3405.  Teachers sign students up for tutoring, so your Ram needs to make sure he or she is communicating with the classroom teacher if he or she wants this option for assistance.

Additionally, intervention staff are offering after school tutoring on Tuesdays until 4:50.  Mr. Drew will help with general studies and Gradpoint.  Mrs. Robinson will help with Math I.  WCPSS activity buses run to limited stops.

Those who are interested in either option need to contact Mr. Thomas at jthomas7@wcpss.net or call the school and ask to be transferred to his extension.

Wake Tech is holding an open house at the Northern campus on Saturday from 9 am to noon.  There will be a main campus open house at the same time of day on April 8th.  Go to openhouse.waketech.edu for more information.

Also, Wake Tech summer camps are filling up quickly.  Wake Tech hosts camps to help students explore interests and possible career options.  Space is limited, so interested folks need to contact Wake Tech right away at summercamps.waketech.edu.

Course verification sheets will be sent home Friday for parents to review and sign.  This, of course, follows the event we had earlier this month where we had students register for 2017-18 courses.  It is very important that you review and return this information.  We want to do a very good job with course preparations as we organize for the next school year.

Applications for all 2017-18 application courses whether the course is offered in the fall or spring are due March 31st.  Late application will not be accepted.  Applications may be turned in to Student Services or the teacher.

On April 1st, STAG and BTAG will join with Zaxby’s and the Food Back of NC to bag and distribute 10,000 pounds of food at RHS.  If you know of people who may be in need of food, tell them we will have food at the football field visitor concession stand beginning at 11 am until food has been distributed.  They should not delay arrival.

On Tuesday, April 4th, we invite all seniors and their parents to Senior Parent Information Night.  The session will begin at 6 pm in the main gym at Rolesville High School.  Please come out and join us as we share important information with our 2017 graduates and their families.

Senior parents, please remind your Ram to bring letters of college acceptance and scholarship offers to Student Services.  We want to celebrate successes with our Seniors!

That will do it for this week.  Make it a great weekend!
